Day 21 "Castles in the Sky"

Castles in the Sky

As children, my sister and I loved to design our dream mansions.

We would create elaborate drawings on incredible landscapes,

Making sure to include every possible thing our hearts desired.

Then we would show each other,

And describe the whole scenario.

We were only limited by our imaginations.

—As adults we become intimidated,

Overwhelmed,

Financially insecure about dreaming big.

There are so many rules,

Codes,

Engineering analyses

To consider.

The restrictions are stifling for someone like me.

The red tape ties me up and I don’t get started.

So I have fun designing things in my mind,

And on paper,

And sometimes even skirting around the rules,

And building something anyway.
