Explore Outward

I once went on a love quest, as described by my teacher. With each step I took, I stopped and let my eyes fall on something random, and I stood there looking at whatever it was until I could feel love for it. Once I felt love for the bumper of a car. Once I felt love for a leaf. When I looked at a little broken rock in the gravel, I stared for a long, long time. I tried to feel love for that little rock but nothing seemed to be happening. The longer I looked, the more I became accustomed to its shape. I got used to its edges and the different grays on its surface. I began to feel that the rock was a part of me. Finally, the rock became dear to me, and I loved it. I love it still.
