"Unfathomable"
Lying in a meadow of wildflowers feels like heaven on earth:
The warm smell of blossoms,
The bitter smell of weeds,
Bees greedily mining for nectar,
Birds calling to each other.
My face, brushed by the breeze, cools me.
Then I realize a mystery supports me.
What is under me, holding me?
All you know are the plants, m dirt, rocks, and sand;
Just flatness with little bumps.
To imagine the greatness of the earth, right under me, seems unfathomable.
