Chapter 28

Stories from Philosophy 1

There were many little experiences that I have to attribute to Philosophy 1 class.  Experiences that I probably didn’t get as much out of as I could have.  Here are a few.

Tom told us that as we make a practice of going to our medicine place, and to the sacred area, and ask for someone to be sent to us that needs healing, soon the word will get around.  You’ll get to your medicine place and find it crowded with people or spirits (you don’t really know whether they are alive in the physical world or not) waiting for you to help heal them, with light from the spiritual earth.  I found that to be true.

Tom suggested that when that happens, we might want to set up a waiting room for them.  But I am an impatient soul and when it came to finding many people waiting for me, I would put my hand on the Lion and together we would blast the whole medicine place with light so everyone could be taken care of at once.

Before that though, may classmates and I would often talk about our experiences.  We found that it was not just humans that would come to be healed.  Anything might show up when we asked the Creator to send something that needed healing.

Once a huge dinosaur foot showed up on my altar.  I could not even see the whole dinosaur, it was so big, but I brought the healing light up from the spiritual earth and ran it through the foot just as I would do anything that showed up.  It would seem there are many things in need of healing.

Once, when I decided to try the healing technique in the Crystal Cave, on the right of the stairs, I asked for something that needed healing, and another skeleton showed up, accompanied by a young girl.  As I sent light through the skeleton, he turned out to be another Celtic Warrior dressed in similar clothes and armor, but he was a much different personality.  He appeared mild mannered, tall, and scholarly.  I have not seen him or his young companion since.

Once when I went into the Crystal Cave, I found a large ball of mud on a bench inside, near the opening of the cave.  I put it on the altar and washed it with light and it turned out to be a crystal helmet.  It felt like a gift to me and I put it on.  Later when I was given the armor, I noticed there was not a helmet with it, and I figured it was because I already had the crystal helmet.

There have been things that showed up and I never did see what they were, because they were somehow shrouded from my view.  But that didn’t matter, it may be a mystery, but I did the work regardless.

Although doing this work in meditation is meant to be for others, I found a beautiful unexpected blessing in it for myself.  When I would ask for someone or something that needed healing, I never know what or who would show up.  But in doing this work, and running that beautiful white healing light through me to them, I found that I felt love for them that I did not expect.  By the time the healing work was done, I loved them.

Then I found that doing that work in the spirit translated into feeling love for others in the physical world too.  I found myself circling around to exit where the beggar was just so I could send some light along with a few dollars, or a hamburger.  Dealing with the downtrodden in spirit made me feel less afraid and more loving toward those in the physical.
