Day 14 Respect

$200.00

After a stormy night in my tent, feeling like an alien to nature, our teacher asked us if we had asked permission of the area we pitched our tents.

I had not even thought of asking permission.

My teacher said, “How would you like it if a bear walked into your living room and pounded stakes through your floor, and made itself at home, taking whatever it needed and moving things around?”

He said, “If you haven’t asked permission, go out and do that now.”

I did.

That night when I went through the storm to my tent, and into my sleeping bag, I felt at home and welcome.

I asked permission, and showed respect, and I was welcomed.
