Day 17 Perfection

$200.00
Sold Out

I was 12 years old my first year at girls camp.

Traditionally we girls enjoyed playing harmless pranks on each other

at night when the sun goes down.

My friends and I decided to creep through the woods

to the open end of the tarp tent

where some girls from another group were going to be sleeping.

To go through the thick trees in the dark that night,

was to not be able to see our hands in front of our faces.

No one wanted to go first so I volunteered.

We made a chain holding hands.

I made my way along,

leading the others,

and to my astonishment,

I felt a perfect peace and comfort in that pitch blackness,

moving from tree to tree,

feeling along with my hand held out.

I will never forget that.
