Day 6 “Snow Flurries Expected”

Each morning during a two week period one rare winter,

We would listen to the morning news on the radio

To see if we would be lucky enough to have another snow day.

Snow is rare in the Willamette Valley.

And when we would hear,

“Snow flurries expected”,

We children would cheer!

“Yaaayyyy! No school today!”

And when not out playing in the cold,

I would sit for hours by the big picture window,

In the warmth of my home,

Eating home made cinnamon rolls with a bowl of chili

(They go really well together),

And look up at the snow

As it falls towards my face

Without hitting me.

Felted merino wool and silk with bead and embroidery embellishments.
