Day 20 "The Pearl in the Lion"
The Pearl in the Lion
Tired of wondering about the Lion when he left a stuffed plushie,
Or a Lion skin hung over a wooden frame,
In the place he usually met me.
In a confident motion I lifted my arm,
Plucked a sword from the air,
And sliced the empty Lion skin and frame.
Criss, cross I slashed,
To see what was inside.
The skin fell open, limp,
Revealing a large, silvery blue pearl.
I once heard a story about a man who sold everything he had
For a very special pearl.
‘Is this that pearl?’ I wondered.
So I asked,
“What is the Lion, anyway?’
A voice answered,
“The Lion is a symbol of
Courage,
Strength,
Honor,
And Nobility;
The things that you love.”
Merino wool and silk with bead embellishments.
